I want to help the children become familiar with using the computer for more than just games as soon as possible. This kindergarten class will graduate in 2021. I think that computers may be the center of their future lives!

Computers can get students in touch with technology and prepare them for possible future jobs. Some students only opportunity to get acquainted with technology would be in school. Students can also use multiple genres of technology to enhance the presentation of their writing or to inspire creative ideas.
Using technology in the writing workshop exposes children to computers at a young age, so they are becoming familiar with them. It is an important skill for students to have. I think technology gives children an opportunity to express their ideas in a different way than simply writing with pencil and paper. It is another way to show creativity.
Using technology makes the writing process more fun and interesting for students. My students are much more willing to participate if we are doing writing on the smart board verses at their desks.
